The author of this book is James Baldwin. He did a good job rewriting the book without cutting too much out, and I like how it still has the main parts in it. The setting is in Spain, and I would guess that the time is about the 1800′s because some people have guns, and knights are not very common anymore.
There are a bunch of main characters, and a few who only show up once in a while: Mr.Quixana/Don Quixote de La Mancha is the main character. Mr.Quixana and Don Quixote are the same people. Don Quixote is a crazy man who read so many books about knights and ladies that he became crazy and wanted to be one himself and called himself Don Quixote and rode out to be a knight. Then there is Rozinante who is his horse who he rides, Rozinante is a skinny, bony, and very unknightly horse who Don Quixote plays at being knight on. There is his niece and house keeper who only show up once in a while. And then there is his”squire” Sancho who is a small, and rather fat farm boy.
The plot in this book for Don Quixote is for him to be the main knight in Spain, and he tries doing this mission by attacking the king’s guards, and jousting with other knights to show them that his imaginary lady is more beautiful than theirs. He is a rather foolish man though, and he gets beat up because of releasing criminals and other people who should be in prison or working in the galleys.
The Moral of this story, I think, is that you should never become to full of your self, and the reason I chose this book is it is comical and has some morals in it. I hope you enjoy this book report, and maybe read the book itself.
