One day, a fox was found breathless in a field in a town. It had long been a terror to the villagers of the town, and soon even the rooster and his flock of hens and chicks were looking at the body in glee. The whole town was busy trying to think of what to do with the body when the fox stood up and stretched and told them that he must have had so many hens and chicks for dinner that he slept very long. Then the rooster realized how few chickens he had, and that he did not notice. Then the fox laughed and stalked into the woods.
The moral of this story is: ill news travels fast.
