The author of this book is Robert Blowning. This book is more of a poem than a book, but it tells a story. The setting is in a little town called Hamelin, but I am not sure where that is, but I would guess that it is in Germany or France. The time is about July, 1300, but it does not say when it takes place exactly.
There are only a few main characters. There is the Pied Piper of Hamelin, he is a wandering man who carry a pipe and were dirty and yellowed clothes. He uses his pipe to charm vermin and trouble makers and make them drown themselves or something that gets arid of them. There is the people, the people are the ones who complain to the government of Hamelin about the rat problem. There is the government who is the people who promise the Piper 1,000 gold pieces for driving the rats off and then fail him. And then there is the little boy who gets lonely because his friends left, and he follows them into the mountain side.
The plot of this story is for the people of Hamelin to find a way to dispose of the rats, and they finally find a way by telling a famous wandering Piper that they would give him 1,000 gold pieces if he would drive out the rats. He does, and then asks for his reward, but the people ask him to take 50 gold pieces. So the Piper plays another tune and takes all but one of the children away from Hamelin.
I chose this book because it has a moral in it, the moral is to always keep your promises because they might lead to problems if you do not keep them. This book is very good, and I recommend this book because it teaches people how keeping promises and telling the truth is very important.
Book is not avalible in Main Lesson.
